Single-phase Brake Motors: Safety and Precision at 230V

Our range of single-phase brake motors is the ideal solution for applications requiring immediate stopping and maximum operational safety where a three-phase line is not available. Designed with spring-applied braking systems, these motors ensure excellent performance under all conditions while maintaining the compact dimensions typical of 230V units.

Technical Specifications and Performance Range

Every single-phase brake motor is manufactured according to strict mechanical and electrical standards:

  • IEC Sizes: Available from IEC 50 to IEC 100.

  • Power Output: Range from 0.06 kW to 3.00 kW.

  • Polarity: 2, 4, and 6 Pole versions.

  • Power Supply: Standard voltage 230V-50Hz.

  • Construction: Aluminum frame with B3, B5, B14 configurations (B3/B5 – B3/B14 available on request).

Available Brake Types

To suit every braking requirement, we offer three different configurations:

  1. DC Brake (Direct Current): Precise and consistent.

  2. AC Brake (Alternating Current): Ideal for fast duty cycles.

  3. DC “S” Brake (Parking): Reduced footprint version, with shields available in aluminum.

Brake Unit Technology and Safety

Our single-phase brake motors feature brakes firmly keyed onto a cast-iron shield (or aluminum for the S series) at the rear of the motor.

  • Negative Action (Fail-safe): The braking action is automatically triggered in the absence of power to the brake coil (positive brake available on request).

  • Class F Insulation: Ensures high-temperature resistance and long-term reliability.

  • Eco-friendly Materials: Friction linings (brake pads) are completely asbestos-free, complying with the latest EU Directives on Occupational Health and Safety.

  • Corrosion Resistance: All brake bodies are protected against atmospheric agents via painting or hot-dip galvanizing. Wear-prone parts are treated in special atmospheres to provide remarkable durability.

Customization on Request

We provide single-phase brake motors with special executions for any project:

  • Shaft and flange made to customer’s technical drawing.

  • Special voltages and international certifications.

  • Configurations for single-phase, three-phase, and two-speed (dual polarity) motors.

Technical Note: The presence of the brake unit increases the axial length of the motor, while all other standard mechanical characteristics remain unchanged.
