Motoinverter: features and specifications

The motoinverter is an electric motor with an integrated inverter: a flexible, customisable and cost-effective solution for frequency variation.

First of all, it is important to explain that the motoinverter was created to meet the need to control the motor via an inverter without having to build and manage an electrical panel.
Indeed, for some applications, combining mechanics and electronics has become essential to ensure performance, efficiency, overload capacity, protection and safety. In the case of the motoinverter, these advantages are joined by extremely easy installation.

The motoinverter range starts from 0.18 kW and goes up to 7.5 kW, includes 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-pole motors and is divided into the following 5 categories:

  • Junior, covering frame sizes 63 and 71, available in single-phase version only
  • Small, covering frame sizes 80 and 90, available in single-phase version only
  • Medium, covering frame sizes 90 and 100, available in both single-phase and three-phase versions
  • Big, covering frame sizes 100 and 112, available in both single-phase and three-phase versions
  • Premium, covering frame size 132, available in three-phase version

The motoinverter also comes in two versions: B and T.

  • Version B: with built-in keypad, allowing quick adjustments even after installation.
  • Version T: without keypad. Once set, the parameters cannot be accidentally altered by third parties; moreover, whenever the motoinverter communicates with third-party systems, a keypad is unnecessary.

The motoinverter is truly strategic both for applications that require motor control (but where installing a panel is impossible or not strictly necessary) and for situations where the motor and inverter must be integrated into a system: this solution is ideal because it comes already perfectly balanced.

The motoinverter is customisable and can communicate with any interface, allowing connection to various technologies including Industry 4.0, PCs or data centres.

The Motek Drive motoinverter is also equipped with a MODBUS module that exports all measurements relating to current draw, voltage, power factor, speed, inverter temperature and protection status.

On request, the motoinverter can also be fitted with 2 additional accessories:

– a remote control terminal for adjusting the motor speed;

– a digital programming terminal which, in addition to acting directly on the speed, also allows the motor’s direction of rotation to be reversed.

Motoinverter applications
